Building a safer, more effective correctional system grounded in accountability, rehabilitation, and human dignity.
The End Prisonism Organization is a public-education, research, and civic-action organization working to expose punitive dehumanization in correctional systems and advance solutions that strengthen public safety, correctional professionals, families, returning citizens, and communities.
What is Prisonism?

Why This Matters
Public Safety
Correctional conditions influence what people bring back into their communities.
Correctional Staff
Understaffing, hypervigilance, burnout, trauma, and moral injury affect institutional safety and staff well-being.
Families
Incarceration disrupts relationships, financial stability, parenting, and child development.
Reentry
People cannot be expected to return successfully when incarceration weakens the skills and connections necessary for responsible citizenship.
Communities
Failed correctional outcomes contribute to repeated victimization, unemployment, instability, and public expense.

Founder's Story
Built from lived experience. Designed for lasting institutional change.
I began this work because I spent years inside institutions that showed me how easily human beings can forget the humanity of one another. I eventually realized that what I had witnessed had a name. I called it Prisonism—not because I wished to create a new word, but because I needed language to describe a reality too many people had accepted as normal.
